A Note from Julia

I thought the weather in LA was always sunshine! Not so when I visited a few weeks ago, to launch our month-long brand residency at women’s retailer, Teller. That early taste of winter dressing has left me so excited about our upcoming Autumn collection, which launches tomorrow.

As I find myself in a stage of my life where I’m juggling so many balls in the air, the thing I find most grounding is a great outfit - I feel more confident, competent and comfortable. My design approach remains ever practical: what am I missing in my wardrobe? What cut or texture am I drawn to? It may even be an item of my husband’s I find myself wearing a lot, because I love the fit or the colour.I’m constantly studying what makes a great outfit, working out how FWF can best translate that into offerings for all our customers. During the design process I ask the team, can this piece be outfitted five ways? If so, it can be considered for the collection.

Outfit staples, effortless layering and the ability to experiment with our core collection and classics from past seasons. These are the things I hope we achieve with every collection, and mean FWF becomes a constant in your dressing choices. We continue to showcase multiple outfitting options through FWF looks, hoping to illustrate how to use our pieces as an accessory or finish off an outfit in an unexpected way.

This collection is one of my favourites to date – it encapsulates everything I’m looking for when the weather starts to turn. Lightweight jackets, soft knits, layerable basics, well-cut bottoms and everyday denim. If you get the chance to visit our Melbourne store to touch, feel and try on the collection in person, I encourage you to do so – the pieces really do speak for themselves.

I hope you love the collection as much as we did making it!

Love,
